A Day of Study
November 13th & 14th, 2026
Join the ICAA SE on a special study trip to Pinewood, South Carolina for a day of observational drawing, and exploration of the historic structures at Millford, a property of the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation!
Located in Pinewood, South Carolina, (Sumter County). Millford is one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in North America. It was built to demonstrate the wealth and good taste of John Lawrence and Susan Hampton Manning while providing a beautiful setting in which to live, entertain, and raise a family. Little wonder that when Richard H. Jenrette saw it for the first time, he pronounced it “irresistible” and described Millford as his “Taj Mahal”

Drawing Samford:
An Introduction to Architectural Sketching
Various Dates ~ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join The Guild, AL for this four-part series, hosted on the Samford University campus, is a beginner’s introduction to the art and joy of architectural sketching.
Each month we will try out a different way of observing and recording the architectural environment. The instructor will spend the first 30 minutes demonstrating the technique, then there will be free time to sketch. At the end we will reconvene to share our work. Free breakfast and coffee are provided.

Georgia Tech School of Architecture:
Winter Showcase
Join the Georgia Tech School of Architecture for their Winter Showcase, an annual All-School Portfolio Competition. This year the showcase opens its doors to a broader public audience: an evening of student work, lively conversation, and celebration that shares the work of our students with alumni, the profession, and the public.
The event moves to LOOP, the new cultural hub powered by Goat Farm in Georgia Tech’s Creative Quarter, near the Ferst Center for the Arts. There, nearly 500 students from three of our programs (BS in Architecture, M Arch, and MSUD) present their portfolios.
We’re thrilled to welcome our ARCH alumni back home, along with practitioners, colleagues, and anyone curious about architecture and design. Come see what the next generation is designing, and share your insights with the students shaping the future of the profession.
Students present their work in two rounds of juries, from studio-level reviews to year-level reviews. The evening closes with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding work.
Enjoy an open bar and a spread of light bites, on the house throughout the evening as you browse the portfolios.
